Every school organisation on Octavo will have several users whose accessibility on the app differs according to their respective roles. There are currently five different user types which can be assigned within each organisation. It's very important to remember to press Enter on your keyboard if you're typing the emails.
It is possible to paste up to 50 email addresses from an Excel or Google Sheets file for batch invitations.
The owner role has access to all the data of the organisation, and can invite users, assign their role, and monitor the progress of students and classes. Every teacher, LSE, and student in the organisation has to be invited by the owner to be able to access the Teacher’s Portal dashboard.
The owner has to use the same email as the one the user’s registered with to send an invitation successfully!
After all the users have been invited and accepted the invitation, the owner can create the school’s classes, assigning teachers, LSEs, and students accordingly. The Classes tab can be found by clicking on the arrow next to the school organisation’s name on the Octavo panel dashboard.
Removing organisation access
It is possible to remove a user from an organisation. To achieve this, head the Users tab of your organisation and find the user to be removed. In the row, open the dropdown menu and press Remove. Note that removing a user from an organization won't remove the Octavo account but just the access to the organisation.
Multiple user types
A user can hold more than one user type in one organisation. Common cases of this scenario are teachers that also are administrators of users in the system. It is possible to send multiple invitations to the same Octavo account, each of them with a different user type, which access level will be the composition of all the user types granted.
